Tim McGraw - Humble And Kind - Are we?

"Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're goin'
Don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind"

“I think, in the times that we live in, it’s an important song, by itself, just by what it says” ~ Tim McGraw
It’s simple lyrics are exactly what we need to hear in a world filled with selfies, political finger-pointing, and the ever-present search for acceptance. Do we, as a society, understand the true meaning of these words? Or do we, as the song suggests in its lyrics, use them as a “pick-up line?” All of us, I believe, want to be humble and kind people. But hearing the song had me thinking about how often we offer platitudes to one another or on Facebook. We say things like, “I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time,” or “I will send good thoughts.” A few minutes later, we are thinking or saying things that are not so flattering about someone. We aren't being as considerate or kind as we perhaps should be. ~ Tracy Lynn
Tracy and Tim are spot on, aren't they? I used to consider Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd my "mantra" to my sons. I dedicated that song to each of them on the radio (and of course in their baby albums!) the day they were born. Now? Why is it so hard to pick just one? This song - this truth has absolutely touched my soul, expanded my own humbleness. I have always considered myself as a humble person. I strive, as a mother and a woman, to instill in my sons the same values. Both songs, Simple Man and Humble and Kind, describe just perfectly all that we can hope for our family, our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, parents, and friends. Doesn't it go back to that age-old "Golden Rule"?

Humble And Kind Tim McGraw Album: Damn Country Music
LYRICS VERIFIED BY Tim McGraw
HUMBLE AND KIND LYRICS

You know there's a light that glows by the front door
Don't forget the keys under the mat
When childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind
Go to church cause your momma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
It won't be wasted time
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door say please say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind

When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

Don't expect a free ride from no one
Don't hold a grudge or a chip and here's why
Bitterness keeps you from flying
Always stay humble and kind
Know the difference with sleeping with someone
And sleeping with someone you love
I love you ain't no pick up line so
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door say please say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind

When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

When it's hot, eat a root beer Popsicle
Shut off the AC and roll the windows down
Let that summer sun shine
Always stay humble and kind

Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're goin'
Don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind

New Year's Resolution anyone?
What are your thoughts on this song?
What do you try to instill in your sons and daughters?
Give me a song that's touched your soul, your heart.

Exfoliation is the action of gently removing dead or old skin cells from the outermost surface of your skin. The healthiest way to do this is with natural skin products with small granules which rub away the old skin. It's important to keep your skin exfoliated before and after you begin your at home sugaring treatment, ensuring that only your unwanted hairs get removed. By maintaining an exfoliation routine in between sessions, your sugaring treatments will produce the best results because the dead skin cells will not block the pores.
All natural Sugar scrubs are perfect for regular exfoliation in your skincare regimen as well. Whether you are sugaring at home for the first time, maintaining aftercare, or regularly exfoliation in your skincare regimen, your skin will feel amazingly soft and healthy.
Rosemary Eucalyptus Sugar Scrub: Eucalyptus gives a fresh, minty, pine scent with a touch of honey while the Rosemary has a unique pine-like fragrance that is balanced by a rich pungency, a combination that evokes both the forest and the sea. Rosemary is invigorating, refreshing and stimulating and has an excellent reputation for oily skin/acne. Add the light citrus aroma of the lemon and you've got yourself an uplifting winner!
The grainy essence of Oatmeal Mint Brown Sugar Scrub makes it a good scrub already, plus oats also absorb and remove surface dirt and impurities. Oats deep cleanse your pores, they gently exfoliate, and finally, hydrate and soften your skin. This makes the non-oily Oatmeal Mint Scrub the perfect exfoliant for before sugaring.

How much sugaring paste should you use?

Many people have sent me messages regarding this question. How much sugaring paste should I use? Will the 2 oz be enough to do...____?

Well, there's a simple "rule of thumb" to figure that out.
The 8 oz sugaring paste SHOULD be enough to do both legs from ankle to above the knee four times. This, though does depends on your studies - watch the tutorials, read through the tips and tricks, do your research on the method itself (the spread 1,2,3 flick sugaring method) beforehand so that you are more acclimated with the method and don't waste the sugar by not performing the method correctly.
Remember the key - #1: smaller the area smaller the ball
and #2: more sensitive the area the smaller the ball
On the legs, you will want to use a ball about the size of a golf ball which is just about equivalent to 1 oz. This makes 2 oz just perfect for doing the legs once.

So, for the 8 oz, for instance, you will get 4 uses. (2 oz per legs session x 4).

SO with that being said -
Legs (and back) typically use a ball about the size of a golf ball equaling about 1 ounce (half the sample size 2 oz)
While for the bikini area you're going to use a ball about the size of a nickel to as little as a pencil eraser. You'll notice the new applicator has two ends - small and large rounded. You'll want to use the small end for the bikini area.
Then we have the underarms. You'll use a ball about the size of a nickel.
Then we can go even smaller - the upper lip will use about the size of a dime, while the eyebrows about the size of a pencil eraser!
(The applicator helps eliminate heat transfer from fingertips to sugar so the sugar lasts longer).

Hoping this finds you well and these lil tidbits are helpful!

The most common question asked is "Is it painful like waxing in a salon?" The answer is an emphatic NO! Honestly, the pain level will depend on your personal threshold of pain, though in general, the pain level is much less than salon waxing, and just feels like removing a bandage.
This sugaring wax can be used for all areas of the body, such as the legs, arms, underarms, bikini, upper lip, chin....from your eyebrows to your toes! Sugaring is ideal for all skin types including those with eczema, psoriasis, even varicose veins.

Fact: While being spread in the opposite direction of growth, the sugar seeps into your follicles/pores. This action essentially "lubricates" the hair, allowing for gentle extraction.

It's time to rebrand JBHomemade's Logo! Give your opinion for a special coupon code!

Well, it's time to reorder my business cards and I thought what better time to take a look at my current logo and see if I can improve upon it! As much as I love the lil me holding the organic pot in the garden, I have been told by a few people that it seems a bit juvenile. So, with that being said, I have made a few collages and am hoping for your honest opinions. Both for the logo itself and for the font.

Here is the current Business Card (07/2014 - 07/2016):

Update: October 21, 2016
And here is the final design! I am thrilled with the way my new logo and business card design came out and wanted to share it with all of you!

Logo:
Hollyhocks are near and dear to my heart and an integral ingredient in some of the items in my skincare line. In fact, hollyhocks were the inspiration for me to start my skincare line, extending my offerings to you beyond sugaring for hair removal. We have a beautiful hollyhock garden and I use the petals and root system to make toners, masks and even hair toner.
