Exclusive! How To Use Sugaring Wax Tutorial instructions

The most common question that is asked me about sugaring gel/wax?
"Is it just like waxing in a salon?"
Well...yes and no.
There are similarities, yes. But that's where it ends.
There are so many DIFFERENCES that I can not say that sugaring is
"just like waxing in a salon".
Here's a comparison chart: (Click to Enlarge)Sugaring vs Waxing chart comparisonSugaring vs Waxing chart comparison
SUGARING WAX: Do not confuse sugaring wax with the above-mentioned wax. The charts above include waxes used at salons (hot wax, resin wax, etc).
Here's the low down on sugaring wax:

Facts

growth direction
Direction of Removal With the natural
growth direction
Method of Removal With plastic, cloth

(I provide 2 denim strips)
Hair Thickness Thin/Dark/Light
Goal Temporary lasting up to
three to four weeks
Hair Length  Trim if longer than 1/4"
Ingredients Organic cane sugar
fresh organic lemon juice
Mountain Spring Water
No chemicals or resins
How do you do it? Well, it could not be easier!
• Warm your sugaring wax ever so slightly, preferably, in a bowl of hot water until the wax has the consistency of syrup or honey*
surprisedRemember it should be somewhat warm, but NEVER hot! surprised
• Always start with clean, exfoliated and dry skin**
• Apply a thin layer of cornstarch provided (or baby powder).
• Using the applicator provided spread a thin layer of the sugaring wax in the OPPOSITE direction of hair growth in the desired area.
• Apply a denim strip.
•While holding the skin taut, rub the denim piece back and forth creating heat friction. This action ensures the sugaring wax can soak into your pores, coating hair follicles.
• QUICKLY remove the strip pulling in the SAME direction of the hair growth.
*Note: You can use a microwave in 10-second intervals not to exceed 30 seconds.
**It is highly recommended that you exfoliate your skin gently before sugaring.
See? Similar to waxing at a salon, but I would say, well for lack of better words, OPPOSITE! AND naturally gentle.

30+ reasons to look at sugaring more seriously.

When I was a teenager and I was going through puberty, I was taught that the only logical way to remove my now growing leg hair was to shave. I hated it from the very beginning.

From the nicks, cuts, irritated skin, dry skin, ingrown hairs, stubble, and the fact I had to shave EVERY SINGLE DAY, I hated shaving my whole life. In my twenties, I learned about waxing. "You mean you spread hot as heck wax on my skin and then rip the hairs out?" Okay, honestly, I have been waxed three times in my whole life and only once have had a bikini wax. I was never brave enough to go full Brazilian (until now...). I am 39 now (well, almost), have had 3 wonderful sons, two marriages and just learned in the past year and a half that there is a much better alternative. PopSugar, HuffPost Women and many other journalists have been getting to know sugaring as well. Just over the past five years, the popularity of this all-natural hair removal alternative has grown. It was not introduced into the United States until the 80's, but it has been around for MANY MANY years, dating all the way back to when Cleopatra ruled Egypt.

Let’s think about cost for a moment, shall we?

Please refer to DailyWorth's post entitled "Can Expensive Beauty Treatments Save You in the Long Run?
Cost of hair removal within One, Five and Ten years...
Cost over one year :
Shaving: $264
Waxing: $845 (session every 4 weeks or 13 times per year)
Laser: $3,240 (for 6 treatments)
~What about sugaring? $138.40
Lest we forget that there IS an all-natural, gentle alternative and it's been around far longer than any of these methods of hair removal. I make organic sugaring and it costs about $20 per jar. Each jar will provide 2-3 treatments (Legs and underarms as per your model). Treatments are every two to three weeks, lessening throughout time because follicle walls collapse and hairs grow back thinner, finer and sparser. Studies show that sugaring leads to permanency over time sometimes 3 years, sometimes up to 10 depending on the person and adhering to sugaring only. From my calculations (sticking to your calculations) sugaring will cost:
Sugaring $8.00 per session ($20 jar 8 oz ÷ 2.5 sessions) 17.3 sessions per year = $138.40 per year - (Less than 7 jars per year)
*no warming or heating, no raw skin, far less painful, easy warm water cleanup, no strips, chemical-free, all natural, ancient method, applicator provided for your choice finger method or applicator method (along with cornstarch and pure aloe).
*Waxing - Their model on dailyworth (closest method equivalent): $65 per session at 13 sessions per year = $845 per year
Gas to the salon, don't forget to tip your practitioner, painful, red and/or raw skin, heated, some have chemicals, not easily cleaned up, strips, gas home)
The first year, we can safely say 17 times sugaring session per year, though because the hairs hairs grow back thinner, finer and sparser that number will diminish over time.
2nd year we can say an average of 13 times per year.
3rd? 10.
4th year: down to about 6 or 7 timer per year (average person).
You (dailymotion) are calculating ten years and twenty, however, within about 5-7 years, most sugarers should experience permanency as long as they have been sugaring during the anagen stage of hair growth (1/8"). (See diagram below).
By year ten, the average of times per ten years for sugaring would be about 62 (17+13+10+7+5+4+3+2+1 = 62)
Total spent over ten year span for sugaring equals $496 (62 x $8 sessions).
How about how sugaring compares to your common hair removal methods in other aspects?

Can sugaring make hair removal last forever?

JBHomemade_Can_Sugaring_Make_Hair_Removal_Last_Forever

Q. Can hair removal by sugaring last forever?

A. It is possible to become permanently hairless if you sugar yourself correctly and regularly.
If and how long it will take you to stay hairless depends on several factors.
As every human being is an individual, there are individual hair types, so it could be
the case that you stay hairless after a few treatments whereas others may need much more.
Also, the method you previously used to remove hair has a strong influence.
Hair growth intensity is stronger in some areas of the body than in others;
in these areas it will naturally take more treatments."Anukis

Temporary results can turn into permanent. Over time, frequent
sugaring can cause the hair follicle to become damaged, and stop growing hair.
Studies have shown that routine sugaring will lead to the growth of thinner hair.
Studies have also indicated that the hair follicle shaft may collapse
and stop growing hair if sugaring is done on a routine basis.
Hair shape is determined by follicle shape.
Angled/bent follicle = oval (curly hair)/flat hair (wavy hair)
Straight follicle = round hair (straight hair).

NOTE: When waxing, curly hair breaks more than straight hair.

Body Sugaring Leads to Permanency

According to Ms. Chantalle Moerman, blog editor at
Sugaring Change, a well renowned sugarista and practitioner,
In order to understand how body sugaring can lead to permanency,
you have to imagine the follicle wall as a brick wall on a house. (*very good analogy!)
Every time the hair is extracted in the Anagen stage of
growth it pulls a part or brick of the wall with it.
As the bricks are removed the wall will eventually collapse and be unable to produce hair.
*Pay attention here:*
It is recommended that you get your body sugaring done at 1/8"
to catch the hair in the beginning stages of growth.
Waiting longer between services
(*or at home treatments)
creates more discomfort during the molding
(*spreading)
process and will not lead to permanency.
Waxing requires the hair to be longer (in the Catagen stage of growth).
When the hair enters the Catagen stage of growth it is already detaching from
the follicle wall making it less likely to lead to permanency.
Exfoliation is the key to the best sugaring treatment.
In my experience and research, your skin will get better results from sugaring if:

You take the time to take care of your skin before
and after your sugaring treatments at home.
Exfoliation is one of the key ways to keep your skin soft
and happy between your hair removal treatments!
