The most common question that is asked me about sugaring gel/wax? "Is it just like waxing in a salon?" Well...yes and no. There are similarities, yes. But that's where it ends. There are so many DIFFERENCES that I can not say that sugaring is "just like waxing in a salon". Here's a comparison chart: (Click to Enlarge)
SUGARING WAX: Do not confuse sugaring wax with the above-mentioned wax. The charts above include waxes used at salons (hot wax, resin wax, etc).

How do you do it? Well, it could not be easier! • Warm your sugaring wax ever so slightly, preferably, in a bowl of hot water until the wax has the consistency of syrup or honey* Remember it should be somewhat warm, but NEVER hot! • Always start with clean, exfoliated and dry skin** • Apply a thin layer of cornstarch provided (or baby powder). • Using the applicator provided spread a thin layer of the sugaring wax in the OPPOSITE direction of hair growth in the desired area. • Apply a denim strip. •While holding the skin taut, rub the denim piece back and forth creating heat friction. This action ensures the sugaring wax can soak into your pores, coating hair follicles. • QUICKLY remove the strip pulling in the SAME direction of the hair growth. *Note: You can use a microwave in 10-second intervals not to exceed 30 seconds. **It is highly recommended that you exfoliate your skin gently before sugaring. See? Similar to waxing at a salon, but I would say, well for lack of better words, OPPOSITE! AND naturally gentle.
"Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're goin'
Don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind"
“I think, in the times that we live in, it’s an important song, by itself, just by what it says” ~ Tim McGraw
It’s simple lyrics are exactly what we need to hear in a world filled with selfies, political finger-pointing, and the ever-present search for acceptance. Do we, as a society, understand the true meaning of these words? Or do we, as the song suggests in its lyrics, use them as a “pick-up line?” All of us, I believe, want to be humble and kind people. But hearing the song had me thinking about how often we offer platitudes to one another or on Facebook. We say things like, “I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time,” or “I will send good thoughts.” A few minutes later, we are thinking or saying things that are not so flattering about someone. We aren't being as considerate or kind as we perhaps should be. ~ Tracy Lynn
Tracy and Tim are spot on, aren't they? I used to consider Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd my "mantra" to my sons. I dedicated that song to each of them on the radio (and of course in their baby albums!) the day they were born. Now? Why is it so hard to pick just one? This song - this truth has absolutely touched my soul, expanded my own humbleness. I have always considered myself as a humble person. I strive, as a mother and a woman, to instill in my sons the same values. Both songs, Simple Man and Humble and Kind, describe just perfectly all that we can hope for our family, our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, parents, and friends. Doesn't it go back to that age-old "Golden Rule"?

HUMBLE AND KIND LYRICS
You know there's a light that glows by the front door
Don't forget the keys under the mat
When childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind
Go to church cause your momma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
It won't be wasted time
Always stay humble and kind
Hold the door say please say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind
Don't expect a free ride from no one
Don't hold a grudge or a chip and here's why
Bitterness keeps you from flying
Always stay humble and kind
Know the difference with sleeping with someone
And sleeping with someone you love
I love you ain't no pick up line so
Always stay humble and kind
Hold the door say please say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind
When it's hot, eat a root beer Popsicle
Shut off the AC and roll the windows down
Let that summer sun shine
Always stay humble and kind
Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're goin'
Don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind
New Year's Resolution anyone?
What are your thoughts on this song?
What do you try to instill in your sons and daughters?
Give me a song that's touched your soul, your heart.
Many people have sent me messages regarding this question. How much sugaring paste should I use? Will the 2 oz be enough to do...____?
Well, there's a simple "rule of thumb" to figure that out.
The 8 oz sugaring paste SHOULD be enough to do both legs from ankle to above the knee four times. This, though does depends on your studies - watch the tutorials, read through the tips and tricks, do your research on the method itself (the spread 1,2,3 flick sugaring method) beforehand so that you are more acclimated with the method and don't waste the sugar by not performing the method correctly.
Remember the key - #1: smaller the area smaller the ball
and #2: more sensitive the area the smaller the ball
On the legs, you will want to use a ball about the size of a golf ball which is just about equivalent to 1 oz. This makes 2 oz just perfect for doing the legs once.
So, for the 8 oz, for instance, you will get 4 uses. (2 oz per legs session x 4).
SO with that being said -
Legs (and back) typically use a ball about the size of a golf ball equaling about 1 ounce (half the sample size 2 oz)
While for the bikini area you're going to use a ball about the size of a nickel to as little as a pencil eraser. You'll notice the new applicator has two ends - small and large rounded. You'll want to use the small end for the bikini area.
Then we have the underarms. You'll use a ball about the size of a nickel.
Then we can go even smaller - the upper lip will use about the size of a dime, while the eyebrows about the size of a pencil eraser!
(The applicator helps eliminate heat transfer from fingertips to sugar so the sugar lasts longer).
Hoping this finds you well and these lil tidbits are helpful!
